My Metzeller Sportec M5

now with a Philips Screw in it.

This tyre is a very nice tyre, good to corner with, very grippy in dry days and gave me alot of confidence to go down really low in corners. While in wet, it has not given me any problems as of yet. Even thou the tyre has not given me any problems in the wet like skidding or fish tailing i still cannot gain confidence because of a fall i had with my previous rubber - call it my phobia.

now my favorite rubber which cost me $320 front and rear has a philips screw stuck in the rear tyre and my heart aches alot. Gases is sipping out slowly which confirms it has fully penetrated the rubber. With all the precautions that i took to avoid landing myself in this scenario it still did happened.

i know no one is reading my blog cos everyone thought it is dead. but anyway here i am again.

i just got a BLACKBERRY. yes you may ask me why the sudden interest in this fruit. its because i see my friends and relatives holding on so dearly to their blackberry, made me very curious as to why there is such a strong attraction to this phone.

i have an iPhone with lots of functions lots of apps, very useful to me in more ways than one, that is why i am such a die hard apple fan. that is why i hold on so dearly to my iPhone.

Initial judgement on the phone.

keyboard very difficult to use - i heard many like bb cos of their physical keyboard and now i wonder why and i cant even see what key i am pressing.
navigation of the phone is also very slow with the trackball - very primitive (talking about those non touch base BB as all of my friends/relatives are using it.)
very complicated settings, no help from the manual that came in the box
completely lost with what i am suppose to do with the BB PIN and registrations stuff like that
most disappointing of all is the requirement of the BIS service to fully utilise the phone. even a sim card with 12GB of data plan cannot utilise the phone. the BB store is lock unless i get the BIS plan. making matter worst, the FULL BB plan from Singtel of 3GB cost additional of $20+/mth and the cheaper alternative 1GB plan for a mere $5+/mth is a limited version of the BIS. this is SINGTEL's BULLSHIT. STARHUB/M1 has the 1GB plan for $10+ which provides you the full BIS experience. another point to note about this additional 1GB/3GB plan is that looking at this phone, it is nearly impossible to finish 1GB of DATA so getting 3GB for the FULL EXPERIENCE is kinda wasting the money as the data will never be fully utilised. getting the 1GB plan is sufficient in the DATA part of the story but you will miss out in the FULL BB EXPERIENCE.. So in this aspect, i would say, firstly BB is evil to limit the BB experience this way by restricting users to sign up to their service, secondly SINGTEL wants to get more money out of you by giving you no choice but to sign up for the $20+ plan to get the full experience.

as of now i have yet to sign up for the BIS, still trying to see if it is worth my money..

my 2nd hand BB BOLD 9000 has cost my $140 for machine and additional $138 for camera removal, new keyboard, t.ball replacement and servicing, totalling up to $278 i believe i could have gotten a brand new Android phone had i top up a little more money. but there are no Android phones without camera, as my main objective is to get a camera-less phone for work..

weird as i am feeling it is COOL to be using a BB and less cool on an iPhone as everyone seems to have one nowadays. will continue to survey this phone to see what the hype is about.

Singtel is so full of shit and they lie thru their teeth.

I was at the Causeway Point Hello! Shop and i asked one of the staff, whether will i be able to use the sim card of my mobile broadband's dongle's on my iPad 3G after cutting it into the micro sim size. Her answer was no, that it is a special sim. i did mentioned cutting the normal sim into the micro sim but she said the iPad needed a special sim and i have to sign up for the iPad plan to get it. Different. Special. What does that mean? Was she trying to say that the iPad uses a completely new kinda sim card that no one else in the world uses? If so, i definitely have to sign up for another of their broadband contract, to add on to my current iPhone Data plan and Mobile Broadband for my MacBook. I was very disappointed upon hearing what she had said.

Went to googled for the iPad's sim card but i didnt come across any pages that says that the sim card used on iPad was any special new card. And the instructions give to cut the normal sim to micro sim was the same for both iPhone4 and iPad 3G. So i decided to give it a try and insert my DIY cut normal sim to micro sim into the iPad. To my surprise, it actually is working!

So why did they tell me that it will not work? Is she not knowledgeable about apple product, mis-briefed by her manager, or just plainly trying to get me to sign another Data Plan with them?

I was actually convinced by them initially because i read on Apple's Website that the iPhone4 and iPad 3G's sim cards were not compatible. But lucky for me, i am an adventurous person and i like to try things out and proof to myself. This saved myself from stupidly signing up another data plan...

My advice for any jailbroken iPhone users, please download MyWi from cydia and tether your internet to a WIFI iPad and avoid the 3G version if possible, otherwise you would be signing up for additional data plans unnecessarily. For those that have no way to tether their internet thru WIFI, should consider getting the 3G model because an iPad without ready internet is really boring.

Any Micro Sim can be used on the iPad 3G, do not be fooled by the Telco.

Okay i have gotten my hands now on two new Apple iDevices. Firstly my iPad, got upgraded to 3G model thanks to dad, and the iPhone4, thanks to dad as well!

The iPad!

i would say it is one of the most awesome iDevices ever made, sjobs says magical, and no doubt it is also a scaled up version of an iPod Touch. Because of its enlarged screen, you could do more things with the iPad, everything looks nicer on a bigger screen and i would say this iPad is definitely a Netbook Killer. Battery life of the iPad is extremely long nothing like my 3GS.

The iPhone 4!

J got it first at M1 Paragon where she started queuing at 2PM and i joined her after my tuition class. Since this is M1's first iPhone launch, they were making things look much like how Apple did it - that is what i noticed. and they did a very bad job. J was actually the 6th person in line but because of the poor organisation of the numerous M1 staff, she actually collected the phone with the 2nd wave of customers. people that were queuing behind her actually got to collect the iPhone 4 before her. When we walked in, there were so many staff, but non of them actually guided us to tell us where to go, but stood there like cheerleaders or supermodel clapping their hands and welcoming ppl.. Very ridiculous! We followed where everyone else infront of us is going then ended up all the counters were taken and when we looked at the opposite side of the room, other people behind us were occupying up the remaining counters. What happened to queuing up, you mean first come first serve basis doesnt stop at the queuing line? What Nonsense! and J was very sad and pissst off. imagine, waiting from 2PM to 12MN all by herself. Screwed up. then finally they gave her a Queuing No. and tell her she will be immediately ushered to the next available counter. and after J, everyone else got a queuing no too.

Well as for me, i am suppose to collect my iPhone 4 at Marina Bay Sands with Singtel at 3AM, J and i got there earlier and there was no queue, absolutely no queue. the instant we registered, our no was called immediately, despite being there earlier at 1.30AM. Sometimes Singtel still reign over the rest of the provider, but sometimes they suck too.

Both of us haven really gotten down to use the iPhone 4 yet as we are charging the minimum 8hrs before using. but the first thing that i did with the iPhone 4 was to try to replicate the Antennagate issue faced by many AT&T users in America. As expected, on both Singtel and M1 network, we could not degrade the reception till "No Service". The lowest was down to just 1bar. but most of the time it would just drop a bar or 2 when you deathgrip it. So to all the guys that are skeptical about the iPhone 4. the Antennagate is really a non-issue, blown out of proportion because it is an apple phone. infact all other phones suffer from signal attenuation. More reviews later on when i can finally use it.

woah hoho!. its been so long so long since i last updated this blog. i just became lazy and stopped blogging all together. but i am back!

Happy 1 year 5 mths month-sary to J. Yes she totally forgot about it and still have the cheek to say i always forgot too. girls~

Today is another rainy day. i dont hate rainy days if i get to slp through it, but hate it when i need to ride through it. tough luck no money get a car with a shelter. or gf not rich if not can ask her get me a car. public transport need to wake up super duper early. i've past waking up super duper early already.

Alright going back to work. see if i have anything to write about later..

oh ya i remembered that i wanted to comment on something. why does the singapore custom takes so long to clear a parcel. its been 3-4days since my iPads arrived in singapore but they are still at the custom. So much for Priority mail, which took 8 days to fly over here + 3-4 days(or more) custom clearance. it is already thursday today and tmr is the official date for the launch of iPads in Singapore. so much for buying in advance huh? i highly doubt i will receive them by friday cos need to cater for delays from Singpost. i just hope that they are selling it at a higher price in SG compared to what i had paid for. cos the shipping fees and all added up is just not worth it to receive them on the same launch date as everyone else. they get free shipping from apple. better be worth it, better be worth it....

Apple iPad

My iPad is finally shipping. so super duper excited. but i know it will be at least 2 weeks before i get my hands on it. because it has to ship to aveline then shipped back to me.

Its now in Shezhen, the birthplace of Apple product, Foxconn Factory. Going to be tracking this like how i tracked my Macbook Pro the last time. Think i am more excited now than before LOL.!

Updatess: it flew to Hong Kong, now its in Korea. hmmmmm why dont fly straight huh UPS? picking up more stuff from all those countries?

Updatess 2: iPad is now in Buffalo, NY where Aveline is at. and it says it is out for delivery. so it is deliverying earlier than april 12. YAYY waiting for good news from Aveline.!

Updatess 3: The iPad has ARRIVED and is now with Aveline who is going to ship it over here after my exam. i can foresee that this iPad is going to be a big distraction for me during this crucial exam period. The dilemma i had to face over iPad now or later..

Anyhow, the iPad's Case has just got shipped from HongKong expected delivery will be April 15.

i teach tuition and currently have 3 classes, and the class i had today was not one of the best or proudest class. Very naughty, dont listen to me basically no respect at all. i have to admit i am a very kind person, i smile always so does that mean i will be a easy to walk over? enough is enough of the handphone using and not paying attention. i was trying really hard to bring them back up to standard as mid year exam is coming and they are no where on par to what the suppose to be. sadly none of them are interested and to think that they still bear hopes for a JC education. Need to wake up my dear students, you all need to wake up. Really had trouble confiscating their phones till finally one of them left it unattended on the table thats where i grab it while i still had the chance, cos my words on not using the phone falls on deaf ears. sadly to say i was unable to do so too for the rest of the class and they still uses the phone openly regardless. then something unexpected happened - i left my own phone on my desk, i didnt know that they would possess the courage to take the teacher's phone, and they grab it. i was okay with them holding on to it, cos i have no need for it thus i did not demand for it back. let them have some"fun" holding the teacher's phone hostage, till i notice them fiddling with my facebook app, then threatens me that, i cannot imagine what horror they could do to me if i didnt return the phone. they wouldnt like what i would do next i am sure. so i asked for my phone back but the student asked for the phone back in return and i told the student that i would only return it if it gets turned off, otherwise that student could jolly well leave the class, cos i was fed up with their nonsense. so finally i got my phone back and i have to repeat myself a few times before the student finally turns the phone off. after that, the student nv used the phone again and started doing the work, managing to complete the worksheet which they started out, complaining was too difficult and couldnt understand. in fact it was all in their mind, they just are not concentrated in class with their phones around. what i did was only applied to one student, which might be a bias action, next week it will be the whole class phones to be off.

Heavy Pour

Lucky lucky i decided to put on my full raincoat gear before leaving school when there were signs of rain ahead. the sky really pour down everything and it was really heavy, visibility was low. Usually i would not be able to see anything with all the rain hitting my visor but i had RainX applied on and the wonder of it is that it repels water so i had quite reasonable vision in this crazy downpour. and every other car was driving real slowly with hazard lights on. i had to stay in the center lane to avoid all the flooding that normally lingers at the side of the road - aquaplaning is not very what any biker wants to experience..

Saw this group of boys in green driving the buggy vehicle and they were all drenched and none were in raincoat. and i wonder, didnt they bring their gortex along meh? maybe they have to endure this maybe its training haha anyway they were boys and now MAN so they can endure anything - that i can understand cos "We Were Soldiers" LOL.

its sunday now already, been home the past week(s). and feeling real sad because i cant go out and do the "life" thing but stuck at home with videos.. only myself to blame because i skipped too much lectures. and it was because i needed more time to study for quizes thats why i had to skip those lectures. and it was because i didn't study consistently before the quiz thats why i needed more time to study for it. Now i know the root of the problem, i'm to blame for this.. need to really catch up now as exams is really just in the corner... cant wait for the holidays to come, 3 months to do what i have been missing out on.

Good news! Baby has found a job as an accountant, so she too will be busy working on weekdays and wont have time for me too, like i have time for her. Felt like i have neglected her since the start of the semester. But school work was just too much plus i had to take care of iPhone-Avenue all by myself too - my secondary source of income. not getting money from mom anymore so i have to depend on myself; taken over the handphone bill too.

Very glad that she can finally work on a permanent job and have a stable income rather than all those event when the company dont pay on time. like wth. so this is good, and now she can start saving money tgt with me!

Hey finally got the iPad ordering thing going on after my sister transfered the money over to Aveline, who is over in USA. She is gonna help us get it, been skyping with her lately and hey skyping is fun with the video calls and u can even share ur entire screen - and its free!. Getting the 32GB wifi model because i could just create a hotspot by broadcasting a wifi signal from my iPhone using MyWi and share my 3G data plan - how cool is that huh. no need for a 3G model if it is not gonna do calls for me.. I'm getting the case along with it too, dont want to scratch it OMG. And Aveline is gonna ship my iPad over asap when she receives it so i will be amongst one of the very few, i guess, people to be carrying it around. (only hardcore Apple fans will get it now) Anyway, Apple is such an iCon of this century, and you must agree with me. And yes, you are not hip if you dont have an iPad. LOL. =X

Anyway been studying this few days. just started watching videos, what a bore. my eyes are getting crossed already. so much more to watch, i'll nv catch up with the train. only regret is that i should have nv gotten off the train and be consistently studying. sigh. cant wait for the holidays.!

Hardly study much, not as much as i had expected i would with so much spare time. and why so? cos i was busy half the time setting up my blogshop. and the the other quarter of the time thinking about it like how to make it better, worrying about stock level etc. DIEE i really need to concentrate and tmr i am going to the fleamarket @ chinatown to set up my stall for my sister and her boyfriend. cos they need someone there to look after the place and i offer on condition that they lease me a stall space for free. haha anyway my sis boyfriend owns the fleaculture.com the event that you see on the news at T3, ya he owns it. WOW!

I know i need to study and i have yet to touch 2 more modules which is the earlier papers following the one i had been studying all week. but no choice i totally didnt listen to the physic lecture because those lecturers are just not speaking english and it was really difficult to understand, so i had alot to catch up to do unlike the coming 2 module which i had been following deligently - so a lil recap will do the trick!

Hopefully tmr i can squeeze some time out to study at the stall. and may my business blooom!

Everyone plays a part to create an accident free road. Everyone got to be alert and be courteous and giveway to others if possible be considerate dont road hog, if you are going slow keep to the left lanes.

So what if you are driving an expensive car? You assume everyone will try their best to avoid a collision with your car due to the fact that it would incur to them a heavy repair fee of your expensive car's repair? Or that you feel that there is nothing money cannot settle. That even if you hit someone, you could just redeem it with a hefty payout without feeling a pinch? Where is your conscious?

Do you even care about anyone you selfish piece of shit!? I fucking blow my horn right beside your car and you totally show no response. You dont even care for nuts. You think you are high high almighty! You are ignorant and an inconsiderate bitch. You dont even turn to check your blindspot or turn to see why someone is horning. You just drove into my lane like there was no one there in the first place.

The glass on all four side of the car is for you to view through, to look around your surrounding. It is not just to act as a waterproof shelter for you in inclement weather. You just need to turn the expensive neck of yours, whats so difficult?!

I wonder if you are deaf, if you are DEAF, please dont drive.. How you got your license, did you bought it off the shelf, you deaf woman.!

To the driver who charged straight on a inner right turn only lane.. I was beside you on the outer lane doing my right turn and you near missed me ass, literally! Lucky for me i sensed something amiss as you seem to be going too fast to be making a turn so i ram my throttle hard and got ahead of you to quickly complete my turn. Looking at my mirror i could clearly see you real close behind me.

My heart was racing after that for i know that was really really a close call. You almost hit me! Obey the rules of the road otherwise take public transport you jackass!

Misfortunate Events

After leaving Ritz and on my way home some stupid Mercedes driver hit my handle bar with his stupid side mirror!

Here is wat happened. i was traveling along fort canning tunnel when i approached an ERP, and what the hell i am just passing thru here go get to CTE and i had to pay for ERP. there is totally no logic. so which other way could i have traveled to avoid this toll charge - NONE. after getting out of the tunnel i approached a traffic light which was red. so i squeezed through all the cars till i was ahead of all of them, but still in between, just so they are aware of my presence - normally i would move off faster than them when the lights turn green so it doesn't really matter. the light was about to turn green when this car on my right suddenly inched out beside me by a lot and came alot closer to my side (practically his whole front part of the car was beside me now) and it took my by surprise. when the light turns green he just stepped his gas and went off. i had little reaction time to move off as i had to ensure i have enough clearance between these 2 cars, now that the car on my right is so close to me, so as not to hit into them while i speed off ahead. that rendered me stationary while the Mercedes Benz speed off and his stupid side mirror hit onto my handle bar and the fact that the mirror is foldable inwards, it did not really cos a great impact. the side mirror just folded inwards as it hit my handle bar and the balancer at the tip of my handle bar seems to be undamaged. The Benz after knowing that his side mirror took a hit, slowed down. but what ever his reason may be, i know that it arent my fault. cos he hit me, not the other way round. therefore i couldn't be bothered to stop and chat with him. besides there was a heavy traffic behind and i do not want to create a jam. like i said no damage on my side!

i may be partially at fault still but come'on i made an effort to put myself further in front than you to show you my presence and me being able to squeeze between the 2 cars shows that there was enough clearance between us initially when i came along but u choose to ignore my precense and inch closer to me just before the light turns green and stepping on the gas straight after, into my handle bar. it was you who hit into me, let me re-emphasize on that again. dumb driver.!

That above was the first event. then i when to the market, thinking i could get the wires to connect my new Horn on my bike.

I was at this hardware shop. when i was pointed to by the assistance on where the wires were. and i was twittering halfway on tweetie 2 on the above mentioned misfortunate event. i asked the assistance what the rating of the cables were as it wasn't not specified and he replied that i'm suppose to know it, he doesn't know - okay what the hell with that answer. and i saw that it was 1.5mm thick. recalling back i cant remember the thickness of the wired that i needed and i remembered i might have a picture on my phone which i could check on. but i was still twittering and tweetie 2 doesnt support twitlonger and my tweet was over 150 characters. so i had to rephrase and send it out before i exit the app to check on the photo. now the assistance was gone and i was holding on the roll of wire on my left hand on my phone on right. and it was taking a long time for me to rephase the tweet within 150 characters. during this time, the boss was checking me out and then suddenly he started scolding me. asking me what do i want and what am i doing. i said i wanna check something. and he goes on saying he dont like "my kind of people" come here and check things and stuff like that. and i keep explaining that i wanna check something but i am typing a message now and not typing down any of your stuff. and i blurted out i was taking photos which i actually aren't. it was going on my mind that i wanna explain to him i aren't taking photos thinking that might have been his concern but i dunno why i blurted out instead "im taking photos". i know i made it worst. the uncle carried on scolding, saying cannot take pictures this and that... RAWWWR.. so frustrating.. i just wanted to check if this is the wire which i needed because his stupid assistance cannot answer my question. and the he himself told me that i don't need such thick wires. eventually i managed to send out the tweet and so i checked my phone for the wire thickness to realize that i don't have it on my phone. still not sure of the thickness i decided to go home and check. so now i am home and i checked the box - it said the wires have to be 2.5mm thick because it has to carry a 20A current. lucky i did not buy it on impulse with the uncle as i really wanna prove to him that i am a genuine customer. so much for telling me that i don't need such thick wires.

What a day.........

And this was the first high tea of my life and yes high teas are for those rich people without a doubt looking at the crowd there. all the tai tai with their rich husband. and there was one tai tai that keep looking over over table and she had the jealousy look. we all agreed that she must be reminishing about her youth and so sad that it was over and now spending boring time with her boring husband slouching away reading the papers and not entertaining her. haha poor thing right?!

the buffet spread wasn't over a wide range of choice so it was quite disappointing. but according to Lorraine claiming that she had checked all the menus of all hotel that Ritz has the best menu. and yes we are having the best. i think the tea was good. i had Jasmine Gold which was quite refreshing with lemon and honey. The food was good i would say but a little more variety wouldnt hurt right?! Service was good initially but dipped towards the end. we had our tables cluttered with empty plates but no one is clearing them. also orders took a long time to come for some of them.

and as usual we cam whored alot.! haha!

i was telling baby to build a tent in my room when i suddenly recalled that i used to do that as a kid. i would bring the fan and put it at the foot of my bed, then take my comforter and clip it on the top of the fan and on the bed frame. blast the fan which creates a "wind tunnel" with the comforter and i lie in there all cosy and feeling COOL! lol those were the days..

a new year with a new bike! and finally after 4 years i have upgraded my ride to something bigger and more powerful! now rusty belongs to my brother after i handed down to him but he has yet to get his license yet. poor him had to wait till jan 21 because he failed the first time. so i got him downstiars to wash his bike to be - and she was really dirty because i had not washed it for a long long time =x my new bike had some polishing to do as well because the header had turn from shiny chrome to brownish in colour due to the heat and dirt.

baby colouring my tyre wall with red marker, we also pasted the red rim sticker on tgt.

why so redish? i wanted to get a red one but black is all they have. black with red is a very nice combo thou. i like it alot still.

the bike is powerful no doubt about it, but right now i could only ride at 70km/h for the next 1000km because the engine is running in and i cant fully enjoy the engine and also i have not on the V-Tec yet!! the engine is hot, alot hotter than Rusty thats why it came with a fan blower and it keeps turning on which i guess it was because i am going too slowly. lastly the exhaust is too soft, way too soft, softer than Rusty's noisy 2B pipe. when i am riding, i could hardly hear the exhaust sound, so silent so quiet. there is a need to change to a louder full system but it has to wait. the full system will cost me like 1K+ so it will wait.

the next thing i will do to the bike is probably to get a radiator mesh. thinking of the design to put on. and probably more red stickers =))

naming contest, what should this new bike be named? give me some suggestion guys =)

Hey it was Christmas.!!

Merry Christmas to ya all.!

after much frustration with my iPhone's battery problems, finally it decided to give up on me which push me to send it to singtel commcentre for servicing. went there with baby when it started to pour, but just to confirm that it is open on christmas she tried to find their no and call to check if they are operating. yes it took quite awhile till the rain stopped yay and we were on foot again walking under the cool weather!

there was a dedicated counter for iPhone servicing which i was quite impressed at first but come to think about it, Nokia and other phone companies a like have more service centers located at convenient locations compared to the commcentre which sadly is the sole service centre for Singtel iPhones which sadly too has only one lane to accommodate us.

it wasnt too bad at first when i saw the queue which was rather shorter than what i had expected and i was third in line. but it took a damn long time before it was my turn, if everyone gonna take such a long time why cant they just put up a queueing system which would save me from standing there waiting.

another 20min of waiting when it was finally my turn to verify that my battery is faulty. they tried to charge it and told me to wait and the service guy just left. i was expecting more from the customer service from Singtel, the leading Telco in Singapore, but i was disappointed by how that service guy handled my case - mono tone, dont care, expressionless, no enthusiasm and further more they were representing APPLE. had APPLE known about this!! he left me quite lost at that time because what do you want me to do for 20min in your store. i dont want to get a phone, your commcentre is not in a shopping centre - no where else to go. there was no place to comfortably sit down to past time. what i did was to aimlessly walk around looking at phones which i will never get because my iPhone is the best phone ever still!

20min up, iPhone still not charging so he pushed me to another counter and they were gonna replace me with a new iPhone (i would believe it is refurburished) so yay i am happy, very.!! then the next service guy, a girl this time told me i have to wait again, as they need to charge up the phone because it was new so that there is power to register the phone. funny thing is when i first got the phone it was new too, they didnt make me stay 20min to charge the battery. so here i go another 20min of waiting, she arrowed us to wait at this waiting corner which made me feel really uncomfortable - like a prisoner! will i get like beverages i thought to myself - probably not and i didnt get it in the end. this wait was longer, as i am like confined to the corner so i wait wait wait, wait out the 20min till finally she calls me back.

surprise surprise! the iPhone she was charging for the past 20min appears to suffer from the same problem as my original iPhone, the battery couldnt charge. and i thought i had to spend another 20min to wait for her to charge another new iPhone for me by this time round, she jus insert my sim card, plug in the USB cable and my iPhone was done. now the question is, how come this time round the iPhone dont need the 20min initial charge? it made sense to me, is she tricking me? purposely making me wait for nothing?

it was a long wait but after getting a replacement and throwing my battery issues behind, i felt so happy and forgot about all the troubles i had gone thru to get it. wanted to write a feedback about my trip but i clean forgot about it due to the excitement.!

so if Singtel is reading this now, take this as my feedback! im not very pleased with your service, there is definitely alot of room for improvement.!

iPhone Price Plan War

Now that Starhub and M1 are both going to start carrying iPhone in Singapore from 9 Dec onwards, Singtel will no longer be monopolizing on the iPhone market. This will definitely be good news to those who wish to jump on to the iPhone wagon as prices gets more competitive between Singapore's 3 cellular network provider.

Looking at the price plan across these 3 service providers, it is clear that M1 is the better choice. With 10GB of data bundle and a price cap at $36, who wouldn't be interested?

For those that aren't interested before about the iPhone 3GS for whatever the reason, be it the size, the price, now it is the time to get it. It will be the best phone experience you will ever get. Already having an iPod Touch is no excuse to ditch the iPhone, it is an UPGRADE, and that was Apple's plan all along! Read the following article: iPod Touch, Apple's "Weapon of Mass Comsumption".

Hi guys, i have recently chanced upon this open source freeware, Handbrake, online and from the looks of the details from their website, its seems to me that this is a good video encorder so i have downloaded it and here it is for you guys to try too. i have not got around using it yet so the recommendation is just based on the reviews i have read. Will play around with it soon and maybe give a little review.

Circuit Analysis

this paper lives up to its reputation of being one of the highest fail rate papers in NTU. i pratically gave away 40marks because i have no idea what the hell they were asking, too many formulas and i cant remember all of them... lets hope i got the rest or some of the remaing 60 marks which i attempted(no confidence) and hopes moderation kicks in on high gear and push me up all the way. i dun think i wanna take this paper again. it is a torture sitting in the exams hall having the feeling of giving up..

next paper is next week. last 2 papers and im done with all these no life studying..

Real Run 09'

This run is especially difficult due to the terrain. it has a combination of off-road, road and beach and it was hell difficult to run on the beach with all the loose sand and incline offset. thou it is only like 10km it should have been a piece of cake but i haven been running for a long time.

Didnt set my pocket touch app before hand and wasnt able to use it. the app was set to skip track when i shake the iphone and while running it was constantly skipping track due to the bouncing movement. so i had to off it and endure listening to non-motivating music without the chance of skipping tracks when i want to with a flick of my finger. running was a bore!

I reached the finish line at approx 1hr 4min barely made it for the timing of the endurance run component of the Combat Skill Badge which i completed in 50mins. I'm getting lazy -> weaker as time pass. muscles are already non existent. no more buffy buffy look like the days in the army.

i came back 3rd to Danny who is 2nd and Galen who is 1st. Galen came back in 53mins good timing for a secondary school kid. and talk about secondary school, alot of kids were running in this marathon and hell they were fast.!! all this kids made it seems so effortless they dun have the "shag" look on the faces at all, at least not on those i saw..

Youth, had i lost it? I'm only 22 going 23. sounds old enough to me.

yay my uncle was behind me i guess. or maybe ahead of me. i really dont know. because we all got split up. and last was as usual my brother coming back at 1hr 16min.

We went to T3 which was nearby after the run, had lunch at kopitiam and when to the car boot sales which my sister was organising. and they have free Go-Kart rides for customers who spent more than $20 during the car boot sales. but frankly speaking, the G0-Karts were slow.. nothing compared to those in thailand. but its singapore what more could u expect, its always safety first huh? or strict regulation forbids this or that. get used to it.!

hell week

had a hell week last week and it arent going to end soon. so much to catch up in class. all because i have been too playful and now im suffering... so much to study and i realised i really missed out alot during lectures and not doing tutorials arent helping either. ha!

CA for math today was relatively easy to my surprise, and my answer should be correct as i compared it with my friends already. i didnt really study much for maths as i had only spent 2 days on it and i gave up later on because it was just too difficult. reason being my foundation isn't strong and time wasnt on my side, so i decided that there was no point in going on mugging. so i was lucky this time and got the full 20% score!

2 more papers to go, Digital Electronic which i am studying only today - relatively easy compared to the other paper Circuit Analysis which i spent my last 5 days last week trying to understand, seriously that module is a killer!

wednesday would be the end... of the first part, then i have to really pull up my socks and start running. wish me luck!

Go for Bottle-water Ban!

i support the australian ban of bottled-water because i believe that we could do without it in Singapore. our tap water are portable, which anyone can drink straight from the tap and it even have fluoride added which is good for our teeth. To those that feel that mineral water are pure and clean, they would be surprised to know that their favorite bottled-water aren't as pure as they thought. (go google it)

so lets stick to our reusable water bottles and tap water/water fountains to quench our thirst. get to know how much this bottled-water is affecting our earth, and start thinking green!

windows VISTA - not the best out there....

I am not very please with this windows VISTA. didnt want to install it in the first place because i heard it sucks and uses up alot of disk space(20GB). but because of the fact that i own an original copy of windows VISTA i decided to install it in my macbook's bootcamp.

the installation process was anal. and yes very ANAL!

it took an hour to format the partition to some format(cant remember) by the bootcamp. then it took another hour to reformat the partition to NTFS by windows. yes you read right, format was performed twice.. then it took another hour to install windows VISTA.

So i thought yes finally i have windows VISTA on i can finally watch my video lectures online. But i cant use it for internet yet until i patch it up with all the latest updates and an anti-virus program (in this case it was KASPERSKY but installation was a breeze so im not going to whine about it) The patching up of new updates took me a whole day to perform.. seriously is this windows VISTA so full of LOOP HOLES that it needs so much of UPDATES?! I should have just stick to my windows XP(original) instead.

At the end of the day when everything was done, i am more relief than pist at this OS. I open up "my computer" to check out how much disk space i have to spare but to my horror >>>>> 1+GB left!

OMGGGG it actually took up 30+GB on a fresh installation of windows VISTA! i calculated and allocated 32GB for my window partition was based on my old laptop with 50+GB HDD and i have pretty much alot of stuff installed on it and i still have like 20+GB left(no data, all my data are on my external HDD). so i thought im not going to do leave much data on this partition so lets go with 32GB and it should be more than enough...

1+GB left. how much can i do with 1+GB. i am not going to spend another whole day to redo this tedious pain staking process all over again. now i have to bare with it, bite the bullet, and put away 32GB of my HDD just to watch VIDEO LECTURE on NTU edventure which was supposely suppose to support MACINTOSH.!!!

yes once again i was asked for my IC under my block while starting my motorcycle. that is the second time already. and i told the 3 men in blue "this is the second time i'm screened while starting my bike.... " then the men in blue replied back "you would had wished that we did the same to someone else who is starting your bike right?" and for a moment it kinda made sense to me... it is true, i wouldnt want no one else to be touching my bike and if they are, the men in blues better be there to screen his ID!!

now i feel safe but still abit cheesed off because it is quite annoying to be screened when u are an innocent civilian huh?

as u can see, according to the DHL Tracking system, the mac should be on the way here already from SHANGHAI CHINA, probably on the plane or sth like that.

ya you wouldn't have guess, when u order online through the apple store, they actually shipped in from the factory in CHINA. i've already recieved the iPod Touch 8GB thou it didnt came from the same part of china, Suzhou, China. so now lets wait for the macbook. it takes hell long time to ship and after the saga i have with apple store my patience is running out. COMON' ship faster already!!

OS X SNOW LEOPARD

I've also ordered the new OS X Snow Leopard for my macbook which cost S$18 and according to apple, they are only charging the shipping and handling fee. i dun see why a small package like this would cost S$18 to ship. they didn't specify where it got shipped from so i could not justify the shipping price. i got 2 of those CDs one for me and other for my cousin and they shipped tgt. i paid twice the shipping fee when they both come together in the same package and why is that so? am i being ripped off? anyway the origianl price for the OS X Snow Leopard is S$48 with the box for one user on the apple store.

This is the singular shipment. Probably was local because there is no label stating its origin.

When opened, you see 02x OS X Snow Leopard package in it.

At the bottom of the bar code it states:

"Design by Apple in California"
"Made in Singapore"
-hmmmm....

The package contains these 2 items, the OS X Leopard Upgrade CD and a booklet about OS X Snow Leopard. No CD Key provided means that this probably could be used on multiple Macs - yet to be tested.

my rusty 2-wheeled

the DIY fire is burning in me once again as i have the time to waste now.
was meddling with rusty today, trying to convert more bulbs to LEDs and also add on some nice nice bling bling LEDs to her - yea u may think it is ah beng but it is a fun project. to me it is about doing the hands on myself and getting the satisfaction out of it rather than paying someone else to do it.

got most of my electronic stuff together except a few others.

i still cannot convert my signal indicators to LEDs but at least there was progress - i managed to get them blinking (common problem of LEDs conversion is that the stock relay is not able to draw enough current due to the LEDs nature of low current consumption therefor assumes that there is a outage, blow out bulb, and and indicates this by not flashing). i couldn't replace the blow out LEDs in my long ago converted brake indicator due to a faulty solder "sucker" rawr. and also was lacking the correct size hex key so i was unable to remove the fairing to replace a new set of LED brake indicator which i have in hand already. so what had i done, added a bling bling green LEDs to the front wheel.

..then shit happened as i was about to finish connection of the green LEDs. i left the live connection dangling and it touched rusty frame which was grounded and sparks came out - this resulted in a short circuit. then there was total power lost. no lights nothing... i thought my battery was a goner. but lucky rusty is a kick starter bike so i could still start it and ride it. the headlamps and brake lights could still function but less the signals and horn which were dead. i thought i had either flattened or killed the battery. so i keep riding it around hoping the the alternator could charge back up the battery to prove that it is still alive but it still flat-lined. without starting the engine, no electrical stuff worked..

so i went online googled read all about vehicle/motorcycle batteries, how to charge it and problems with batteries and all. till i stumble onto this page which talks about the fuse. it started to hit me, after 2 years in the army i had forgotten all about the basic of electrical troubleshooting. start from the source to the fuse to the load and then the grounding. then i ran down to the bike again, took out the fuse and inspected it - indeed it has blown and then i got the reserve fuse on, crossed my fingers and on the electrical switch. all lights were back on without the engine running.!!

finally after so much speculation the problem has been solved and it was none of the speculated problems. plans to send rusty for battery charging/replacement tomorrow morning can be scraped.

Hey having been blogging lately. Not really motivated to do so already. I need a new skin to keep it fresh. Now this page has turn sour and stale, even I dun visit it.

Just some updates, I removed the last 2 of my wisdom tooth last tuesday and have since been on mc for 7 days. Now at last I can regain freedom to walk outside my door - tmr my mc ends but work starts all over again boo hoo!. Then again one more month to ORD. Woot!

i am a good boy today, i clean up the house. actually i jus did some vacuuming and mopping of the floor. and mummy came back home while i was at it, the first thing that came into mind was "what did i do wrong this time?". i haven been home alot lately and it does makes her feel that i am doing this because i am guilty of something, thats why she felt that way. but in fact, i was just bored and the house was messy and i wanted to do some cleaning up for her because i know she is too tired after working to clean up the hse and no one else does it. and that was reason.

it just keeps ringing in my head, about something she asked me..

and now she is encouraging my brother to take his motorcycle license.
i objected. because i know how dangerous it is..

and it seems like my sister also wants to learn..

A SECRETARY accidentally bit off the penis of her employer while giving him oral sex in a car.

Sin Chew Daily and China Press reported yesterday that while the 30-year-old woman was performing oral sex on the man, the car was hit by a reversing van.

The impact of the crash, China Press reported, caused the woman to bite off her lover's organ.

The daily reported that the incident occurred in a Singapore park where the couple met after work.

To make matters worse for the woman, her husband had sent a private investigator to spy on her after suspecting that she was being unfaithful.

The investigator said he had followed the woman and her boss to the park.

'On reaching the park, they did not alight from the car. Not long after, the car started to shake violently.

Labour day, i thought it was all wasted because i was in camp. But manages to date kenny out to funnan IT mall with his friend Jun who is a programmer. Unlike the last time i went there, this time is definitely better! An all boys and boys day out at our playground. We concluded that girls cannot understand the facination we enjoy at challengers! could spend our day going round in circles just there! Fun fun fun, if only i have the money to buy everything there :)

Bought jasmine a birthday present finally after 5months overdue and kenny's as well in advance after meeting jamie after her first day of work. Poor kenny, i am sure he will like his present alot but too bad he only can open it on his birthday november heh.

Had bah ku teh tgt with everyone at balestia. And we look at our old photos, when we were young and playful.

I am feeling real frustrated lately, workload stress - no one helps me in base work. i'm virtually running the platoon by myself. But lucky me to still have jermaine's help ocassionally. Without that i'm really by myself... Other than my platoon stuff i still have many other stuff to do. All those disciplinary cases for me to handle that aside i still have some stupid concept paper to draw which no one knows how to do and neither do i... AIs AIs and AIs. Frustrated so many stuff to do, so little time.

And things don't get better when i knock off from work. I still feel trap like there is no freedom to do anything, no money to do anything too =\ hiaz. Everyone needs to cut me some slack man. I'm still human after all and i need my space i need to breathe. That phone of mine aren't helping too, stop ringing so often before i smash it against the wall. It is really frustrating!

we finally had the steamboat at purvis st. that aaron and i were longing for. its not buffet style, but we still ordered like nobodies business. beef, seafood, veggie. we keep ordering. and i think we pisst off the waitress aunties. =x

all of us left the place with a super bloated stomach, and mine was humongous.!

then we went to bugis to shop abit. but there was nothing much to get there... really nothing. or maybe i just didnt want to spend that kind of money...

and it was ZOUK at night, i still got in for free as usual with my citiCLEAR which everyone said cannot be used anymore. but i still try my luck and yes. it is still FREEE. heh. had alot to drink, we opened one bottle and it was like crazy. played 5/10 with boon and i am like the big noob, keep on drinking. and we all reached our limits and there is still 1 round left for everyone but i cannt take it anymore. so i told aaron, "eh lets go phuture" and we sneak off leaving the rest to finish the drink. it was super duper crowded today for some reason.. and it was not excatly fun at all, not without jamie. rawr.. how i wish she was with me... miss her alot. RAWR.!

but nvm i will be seeing her later.! we are going to MOF. ! yay!

thinking of alot of things to buy.!

not in any particular order or priority,

i want to get a new 400cc BIKE, which is rather difficult considering the amount of one such bike. ~$13000 been envying for a very long time already. hunger for the power and acceleration, the muscular sound coming from the exhaust.
new Full face helmet to go along with it. definitely arai or shoei. which is summing up to ~$400+ each.

rawr. expensive shit.

a pair of new oakley sunglasses -$200+
new card holder+wallet from montblonc cant remember the price already...

i think this is the most important shit i need to get really badly.. screen and body protector sticker for my ipod 1st gen and also another casing for it.. really need it damn badly but finds it hard to find..

then a new PC/Laptop which i haven decided on which to get yet.. leeching on my sister's laptop isnt the permanent solution...

must buy a webcam so that i can video conference with baby when she goes to india. RAWR.

a decent camera too. then i dun have to always leech my sista's camera as well...

when to www yesterday,
we had free tickets from kenneth which came from his mother. some company function i guess. 6 of us went in total, kenneth&mandy, mitch&kaydence, me&jamie. the weather was hotncold. then it seems like it was about to rain, then the sun hung out again, SUNNY..

alot alot alot of people... not like the usual www that i used to walk past when it is like super deserted. probably because today it was free entry for alot of people. and the que at KFC inside was not short but too awhile before it reach my turn, because everyone in line seems to be buying food for their whole kampung.!! poor me hungry and just want to eat a zinger burger have to stand in line till i am all dried up just to know that no more zinger burger..... rawrr.

it was quite fun thou. not what i had expected! probably because of the crowd ba.

and i got to witness something which i thought i would have enjoyed seeing.
but i was shell-shocked by it...... really scare the SHIT out of me. and i felt so helpless...

Sunday blues.

got woken up early in the morning to run with my sister. she has been bugging me for days to run with her but i have yet to find the time to do so. and since it is sunday today, i drag my ass off my comfortable bed and change into my all red running suit. yay. eager to go for a satisfying run in the early day when the sun is still hanging brightly in the sky. but that didnt quite happened. we ran abit and walked the whole way back because she couldnt run anymore. i pushed her on to run. treating her like a soldier/cadet thinking that she will bite my never give up idea. but nope it backfired on me. and she kept yanking that she haven run for a long time and ask me to give her a break and take it slower. i guess she was right. i haven put that into consideration. and so we walked..... run run run. i wan to run.

i want to be a pilot. or perhaps. not. motivation...at this point of time. negative.

anyway happy valentine's day to the many few who actually come here to read my boring whining blog. haha hope you all enjoyed ur date's company or in some cases ur friends. =))

Family Day.

my brother was driving the car yest.
and there was 3 other back seat drivers on board,
namely my mom - the expert, my sis and me. haha
and it was damn funny/scary.

went to gett our hair cut for the newyear at my auntie's saloon.
and she cut my hair too short. =((((

and we went to daddy's place for reunion dinner. which was advance because we cannot make it for the new year eve. BBQ with mummy's side.
and his food is damn nice. really nice.
his sharkfin soup is like the best around. better than those stupid restuarants...

but there was this irritating shops firing those "firecrackers"
shop A fires theirs, then shop B fires theirs. and so on and so on. repeating and repeating.
and there was no peace for us. eating our dinner.
and my brother said - "can we write a letter to the PM to complain about them"
PM huh? hahaha more like to the MP. heheee.
so funny.!!! and we all burst out laughing.

then we went to grandma hse. haven seen her a long time. and i am sure she is happy to see all of us. miss you grandma.!!! =)))

condolences to steph & family.

went out to accompany steph.
her mom just past away. and it is damn sad.
i feel sad too. to lose someone so close.

just saw a very near miss btw a bike and a car when i was on my way home.
it was clearly the motorcycle's fault.
everyday you hear/see accident on the road,
and people do die, be it in a car or on a bike.
judgment and decision makes a very crucial point in staying alive i would say.
negligence kills.
stay alert always.
thats my advice but it must work both ways.
